While many donors use technology at home, technology in the classroom also includes tools and simulations that help students understand how jobs and systems work. Through this construction, supply chain, and transportation simulation, students used dump trucks, linking logs, and tape to model how materials are moved from one place to another and used at a construction site. Instead of just reading about these careers, students experienced how planning, communication, and teamwork are essential to completing a project successfully.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part of this project for students was being able to physically build and transport materials like real construction and transportation workers do. Students were highly engaged as they loaded dump trucks, transported materials, followed instructions, and worked together to assemble structures. They loved seeing how each step mattered—if one part of the supply chain didn't work, the entire project was affected. This helped students understand responsibility, problem-solving, and the importance of doing their part.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students gained confidence, teamwork skills, and a deeper understanding of construction, supply chain, and transportation careers that they will remember long after this project. One of the goals we have for Book Club is to provide every student with their personal copy of the book we are reading for the month. This means that we need 6 different titles in quantities of at least 40 during the school year to meet the needs of our growing Book Club. Your donation is so valuable to us because it takes the financial pressure off the library to provide these books. \r\n\r\nOne of the reasons that we provide books to our students to keep as their personal copy is because we are creating a home library for our students. Many of our students have siblings and I often hear from my students and their siblings that they read the books from Book Club that we provided. Our goal is to grow readers, so by ensuring a personal copy, not only are making a reader out of our Book Club member, but often we get a reader out of one of the family members if not more. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity.
