Instead of relying on whole-class instruction alone, students can now independently access explanations, revisit concepts, and engage more fully with the material.\r\n\r\nThe organization system has also helped make these tools consistently available. Students are able to get what they need without asking or waiting, which supports independence and keeps learning moving. It has also helped maintain the materials so they remain usable for all classes throughout the day.\r\n\r\nAs we continue working through units that require sustained focus, problem-solving, and use of digital tools, these resources are helping remove barriers to participation. She immediately selected 15 students who could benefit from these materials right away. She pulled students aside and introduced the fidget tools--explaining how they could be used to support focus. Some students really do better when they have something to keep their hands busy while thinking. \r\n\r\nThe basic supplies have also made a meaningful difference. Instead of students feeling stuck or embarrassed when they don't have what they need, everyone now has access to pencil lead and erasers. This has helped remove small but important barriers so students can stay focused on learning.\r\n\r\nOne powerful moment came during a recent collaborative task. Students were working in groups, discussing strategies, and revising their thinking. I noticed a student who often struggles to stay engaged using a fidget tool while actively contributing to their group's conversation. They stayed involved for the entire activity—something that has not always been easy for them. That moment highlighted how these tools are supporting not just behavior, but confidence and participation.\r\n\r\nThe classroom motivation systems have also helped create a positive and encouraging environment. Students are more willing to take risks, share ideas, and celebrate each other's effort. This has strengthened our classroom community and reinforced the idea that growth in math comes from persistence and collaboration.\r\n\r\nAs we continue this year (and in years to come), students will keep using these tools to support deeper thinking, discussion, and problem solving.
