I love that I can grab a foam chip or dice to give a quick example to my students. They love they can touch and move things around. Some students have amazing insights when they can play around with tangible items for a while.\r\nWe used the foam counting chips to show convection currents. Student's saw how the hot water and cold water made the chips move without them touching them. They are just being introduced into plate tectonics and are already seeing how the models provide an insight into the movement of the plates. \r\nI will be doing my isotopic decay with my students in the upcoming week which will require the dice. I have done this lesson as a student and I can remember how decay works and helps determine the age of something.\r\nI am really excited about my ice core lesson. This project is taking a lot of time and effort to make but, like all the materials you have given, I am able to reuse them over and over again in the future. Art after all takes time.\r\nI look forward to sharing the pictures of the completed project and share my students responses when they figure out they determined the timeline of the movie Frozen.","fullyFundedDate":1758051865864,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-steam-to-earth-science/9493296/","projectTitle":"Bringing STEAM to Earth Science","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ballard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8295185_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723734439494","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8295185"},{"teacherId":10080505,"projectId":9465212,"letterContent":"The books you have provided for my students have been greatly appreciated! This has made a massive impact.\r\n Thank you, again, for your support and donations. The hockey equipment has introduced our students to the fundamentals of a sport that emphasizes coordination, strategy, and cooperation. It's been wonderful to see students come together, learning the value of teamwork and sportsmanship, while also having a lot of fun.\r\n\r\nThe diablos have added an exciting element to our curriculum, captivating students with the challenge and creativity required to master this unique skill. They've sparked enthusiasm and encouraged students to practice perseverance and focus, skills that are beneficial both in and out of the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has not only enriched our physical education program but has also fostered a more inclusive and dynamic environment where every student can find an activity they enjoy and excel in. We are incredibly grateful for your support and investment in our students' physical and personal development.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and for making a difference in the lives of our students at Lehi Junior High School.","fullyFundedDate":1732049797443,"projectUrl":"project/beyond-the-game-exploring-unique-sports/8618042/","projectTitle":"Beyond the Game: Exploring Unique Sports for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Primosch","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3816855_orig.png?crop=512,512,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1630732492869","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-primosch"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33323","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1382,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":13,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":85,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":68.1,"schoolId":33323,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lehi Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lehi Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/alpine-school-district/lehi-junior-high-school/33323"}
