When the packages arrived, my students were so excited to open them up. Instead of putting everything together myself, our Student Ambassadors jumped right in to build the garment rack. They spent the afternoon taking clothes out of plastic bags, hanging them up by size, and packing socks and small items into the clear bins. Seeing them take charge and build something meant to help their classmates was easily the best part of the week.\r\n\r\nThe new setup has already made a huge difference. A few months ago, a student came to school uncomfortable because they didn't have a warm layer on a cold morning. Before, finding a warmer option meant digging through messy bags in a back room. This time, we walked right over to the rack, grabbed a clean sweatshirt in their size, and got them settled back at their desk in under two minutes. They went right back to their morning lesson feeling warm, focused, and ready to learn. Teachers have been able to stop in and get items for students who have a soiled shirt or need an extra layer.\r\n\r\nNext, our Student Ambassadors are going to keep managing the closet as part of a leadership project. They're working on a simple checkout sheet to track which sizes we use most so we can keep things stocked.
