These items have already made a meaningful difference in our classroom. My students rely on the snacks during long work periods, and the candy has become a fun and motivating incentive during small-group reading practice. The new Expo markers have brightened our anchor charts and made our phonics and writing lessons much more engaging, while the hand sanitizer and cleaning tools help us keep our learning space tidy and comfortable.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the donated items, their faces lit up with excitement. One of the highlights was during a reading stations rotation: students eagerly grabbed the fresh markers to write responses, proudly showing off their work as if the new materials somehow unlocked new confidence. The snacks have also become part of our routine—students know they can refuel and stay focused, which has been especially helpful during longer literacy blocks.\r\n\r\nThese resources will continue to support ongoing projects, including our current work with partner reading and independent writing practice. Having a clean classroom and fresh supplies helps students stay organized and motivated, and the incentives have boosted their engagement in a noticeable way. Your kindness gave my students not only materials they needed, but also a sense of being supported by people who believe in them. Their faces lit up as they opened the boxes and saw the lap desks, pencils, erasers, and pencil boxes. Many of my students do not always have their own materials, so having something personal and new meant so much. A few students even hugged their new pencil boxes like treasures. It was a really special moment for all of us.\r\n\r\nWe have already put the lap desks to use during our independent reading and writing time. Students love choosing a cozy spot around the room where they can focus and feel comfortable. This has especially helped some of my more active students who need more flexibility during work time. Instead of struggling at their desks, they are focused, calm, and proud of their work.\r\n\r\nOne specific project we used the new resources for was our current writing assignment, where students are working on personal narrative stories. With their own supplies and a space they feel good in, their confidence and creativity really grew. I noticed students writing longer, asking deeper questions, and showing more excitement to share their stories with the class.\r\n\r\nNext, we will be using the lap desks and supplies during small-group lessons and centers. My goal is to help students develop independence and responsibility for their learning environment. The new materials are helping us do exactly that.\r\n\r\nYour generosity made our classroom feel warmer, more supportive, and more student-centered. One of the most exciting projects we're working on is a collaborative research assignment where students are using interactive digital tools to create multimedia presentations about different ecosystems. With access to new tablets and specialized software, they've been able to collect data, visualize it in creative ways, and work in groups to synthesize information. One memorable moment was when a group of students, initially struggling with organizing their thoughts, used a mind-mapping tool to break down complex ideas and ultimately produced a stunning presentation on the impact of climate change on coral reefs. The digital tools allowed them to bring their ideas to life in ways that a traditional research paper just couldn't.\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, there was a palpable sense of excitement in the room. They couldn't believe the quality of the equipment, and many were eager to dive into the project right away. It was clear that the new resources elevated their sense of ownership over their learning. As we move forward, the next steps involve refining their presentations and then sharing their findings with the rest of the class. This collaborative aspect helps foster communication skills, and I'm hoping it sparks ongoing discussions that continue outside of the classroom. Thanks to the generous support from our donors, I feel we've created an environment where students are empowered to explore, create, and express themselves in innovative ways.","fullyFundedDate":1749136830007,"projectUrl":"project/words-of-hope-empowering-literacy-with/9128217/","projectTitle":"Words of Hope: Empowering Literacy with Donations","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martinez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9923257"},{"teacherId":9928871,"projectId":9125137,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for all your support, \r\nMy scholars are enjoying learning with the new materials we have gotten from you all. \r\nWe appreciate you so much!\r\n\r\nThe donations have been impacted by increasing access to educational resources, improving engagement, and supporting equity in our scholars. \r\n\r\nWith love Ms Mejia's classI \r\n\r\n\r\nThank you so much for all your support, \r\nMy scholars are enjoying learning with the new materials we have gotten from you all. \r\nWe appreciate you so much!\r\n\r\nThe donations have been impacted by increasing access to educational resources, improving engagement, and supporting equity in our scholars. \r\n\r\nWith love Ms Mejia's classI","fullyFundedDate":1750284033442,"projectUrl":"project/pre-k-3-and-4-i-am-creative/9125137/","projectTitle":"Pre-K 3 and 4 \"I Am Creative\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mejía","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9928871_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754163675335","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9928871"},{"teacherId":9904849,"projectId":9075382,"letterContent":"We truly appreciate the help you provided for our classroom, for all of my 52 scholars! This ranges from children who speak zero English to those who are fluent in both languages. \r\n\r\nMy constant goal is to foster a love of reading for learning and pleasure in every child who walks through the door of our school. I have worked really hard to improve and modernize our book offerings and ensure that each student finds a book that speaks to them. Sadly, this is much harder to do with books that are written in or translated to Spanish. There are simply not enough books in Spanish on the market. It's a frustrating experience for all of us. However, I take every opportunity to purchase those books. This is a win on two different fronts. Students who prefer books written in Spanish see that those shelves are constantly having new offerings added, hopefully maintaining or encouraging their interest. The other win is that book manufacturers want to sell books. By leveraging the power of the dollar and buying those books, I'm telling them that books in Spanish sell, and hopefully encouraging them to produce more.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping me show the children at my school that they deserve to have books they can understand and enjoy.","fullyFundedDate":1744214498485,"projectUrl":"project/learning-to-love-reading-for-my-english/9216432/","projectTitle":"Learning to Love Reading for My English Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McCurdy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9986650"},{"teacherId":9938001,"projectId":9149055,"letterContent":"I appreciate all the help Donorschoose make for our class and give us the opportunity to have more materials to support all the students.\r\nWe've been loving the new resources in our classroom!
