It makes a huge difference with students when they know that people who don't know them support their education. I apologize that it is taken so long for me to get the thank you package submitted, but I wanted to wait until it was closer to when my students would read the book. We will start the book next week in class, as January 27, is the Holocaust remembrance day.\r\n\r\nThe reading of this book as a class is part of a larger Holocaust unit that I do with my eighth graders. When I explained that the book we would be reading was about the life of a real person who lived during World War II and was a resistor against the Nazi party, they immediately became intrigued. This is such an important part of History for people to remember, and this book does a great job of showing that there were people who didn't agree with what was happening and did what they could to stop it. Thanks to you, they will get to know about the courage of one of those resistors.","fullyFundedDate":1755722642003,"projectUrl":"project/the-boy-who-dared-class-novel/9615864/","projectTitle":"The Boy Who Dared Class Novel","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Herrington","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7957836"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_25464","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":324,"numTeachers":11,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"29.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":25464,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Calvin Nelms Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Calvin Nelms Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/calvin-nelms-charter-high-school/25464"}
