Each student received a copy of Love You Forever, and we used the book to practice reading aloud and build fluency. Because they knew they would eventually be giving the book to someone they loved, they practiced with such purpose. They wanted to read smoothly, confidently, and with expression because the words meant something to them.\r\n\r\nWhen it was finally time to wrap their books, the excitement in our classroom was so special. Students carefully prepared their gifts for their moms and grandmothers, so proud to give them a book they had spent so much time reading and practicing.\r\n\r\nThe best part came afterward. I received messages from families with crying emojis and heard how meaningful and heartfelt the gift was to them. ❤️ What began as a way to strengthen reading fluency became an opportunity for my students to use their growing skills to give something meaningful to someone they love.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for giving my students a learning experience that reached far beyond our classroom. This is one of those projects I know their families and I will remember for a very long time. My students were able to work independently on IXL lessons, assessments, and learning activities without being distracted by the sounds around them. The noise-canceling headphones have been especially helpful in creating a quieter space for students who need fewer distractions to focus and do their best work.\r\n\r\nHaving these resources readily available means less frustration, more independence, and more time focused on learning. It may seem like something as simple as a pair of headphones, but in a busy classroom, having the right tools can make a huge difference. When we got them, the students were so excited because for many this was the first time they had used them. We used them for almost every subject. In writing we highlighted and color coded parts of our writing. \r\nIn reading we highlighted text evidence. In math we use them to help us with strategies. In spelling we highlighted vowel teams and other patterns to help us decode words. Every day my students looked for different ways to incorporate highlighters into their work. \r\nThe sheet protectors helped us create folders for small groups. We also used them for student folders, to help with organization. They took lots of pride in their work and how well these protectors helped them with organization skills. We are so thankful that you donated these items to us. They were able to keep the items in hopes that next year they will be able to carry over everything they have learned.
