Pre-k is a time for learning routines and rules. These prizes will allow me to apply positive reinforcement with my students. In class we have a reward system. This system enhances math concepts. Students earn classroom dollars and are able to purchase items with their dollars. Students earn classroom dollars by following expectations and modeling "stand out" behavior. These materials will also be used to help my students celebrate not only their successes but their birthdays as well. Birthday prizes are used to ensure they feel extra special and are recognized on their special day. Children at this age are continually discovering their self worth and self confidence and by celebrating the day they were born, it makes it that much more special to them.
