Having a printer right in our Life Skills classroom has made a huge difference in how quickly and effectively we can meet our students' individual learning needs. Many of our students benefit from visual supports, adapted assignments, communication tools, first-then boards, picture choices, and hands-on learning materials. Being able to print these resources as soon as we need them allows us to adjust lessons in the moment and provide students with the supports that help them be successful.\r\n\r\nThe students especially enjoy having new activities, coloring pages, visual choices, and learning materials available to them. Because every student in our classroom learns differently, we are able to create and print materials that are specific to each student's goals, interests, and ability level. For some students, a familiar picture or preferred character can make the difference between avoiding an activity and being excited to participate.\r\n\r\nThis printer has also helped us spend more time teaching and less time trying to locate an available printer elsewhere in the school. We can now quickly create materials for academics, communication, behavior supports, daily routines, and independent work. Your generosity has given us a resource that we use constantly and has helped make our classroom more individualized, engaging, and accessible for all of our students. My students are learning phonics. Practicing what we are learning is important for their success. Having them looking forward to going to the library helps.
