Because of your support, we've been able to turn what used to be constant interruptions into teachable moments. Instead of shutting down or leaving their area, my students now have tools they can actually use to pause, reset, and try again.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stood out was during a transition, which is usually a challenging time for many of my students. Instead of escalating, a student independently reached for a support we received and was able to regulate and rejoin the group. That may seem small, but in our classroom, that is huge. Those are the moments that build confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were immediately drawn to them. There was excitement, but also curiosity, and over time, that excitement has turned into meaningful use. These tools are now part of our daily routine and are helping create a more structured and supportive environment where students feel more in control of themselves.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my classroom is not just a place for academics, but a place where students are learning how to navigate their emotions, build resilience, and experience success in ways they haven't before. Your generosity is making a real, lasting impact on their growth each day.","fullyFundedDate":1771411328212,"projectUrl":"project/mess-make-manage/10022174/","projectTitle":"Mess, Make, Manage","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Leija","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4381492_orig.jpg?crop=718,718,x23,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726346998418","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4381492"},{"teacherId":4381492,"projectId":9597782,"letterContent":"When our new sensory room materials arrived, our students lit up in a way I'll never forget. Several of them walked in slowly at first, taking it all in, and then immediately began exploring the textures, lights, and calming tools with curiosity and excitement. For many of our students who struggle with big emotions, overstimulation, or frustration, having a safe and soothing space has already changed the tone of our day. One student who normally shuts down during difficult moments was able to sit with the sensory sand and regulate himself within minutes. Moments like that remind me why this project matters so much.\r\nLooking ahead, we hope to continue building this space so students have even more options to meet their sensory needs. Additional sensory sand, fine-motor calming items, and tools for emotion regulation will support the progress they're already making. Your generosity didn't just give us materials, you gave our students a space where they can breathe, reset, and find success again. Thank you for investing in their well-being and for making such a real difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758822642724,"projectUrl":"project/orbiting-towards-success-through-emotion/9597782/","projectTitle":"Orbiting towards Success Through Emotional Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Leija","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4381492_orig.jpg?crop=718,718,x23,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726346998418","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4381492"},{"teacherId":5893047,"projectId":9606676,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for bringing the Art Market to life in my classroom! The shelves are now filled with exciting supplies that motivate students to participate, save, and make thoughtful choices. When they first saw the materials, many students gasped and immediately started talking about what they wanted to create. One student even said, \"I'm saving my art bucks!\" That reaction showed me how powerful these tools are in helping them think long-term, not just about art but about responsibility and choices.\r\n\r\nLast Friday was our first day using the market, and students were thrilled, some immediately spent their art bucks while others proudly announced they were going to save up for a \"big ticket\" item. Their excitement has grown so much that they've already started suggesting new ideas to make the Art Market even more realistic. A few proposed that we start generating receipts for every purchase, and others came up with the idea of student \"credit cards\" with a small art buck limit that would need to be paid back. These are brilliant student-driven ideas, and they will guide how we expand the Art Market in the future.\r\n\r\nThe next step is tying these resources into our lessons on creativity and positive behavior. Students will continue earning art bucks through classwork and behavior, and now they can practice goal-setting by choosing whether to spend or save.\r\n\r\nYour generosity didn't just stock the store, it sparked imagination, leadership, and financial literacy in ways that are making art class more engaging than ever, my students and I are truly grateful.
