Because of your generosity, cardboard construction tools have been placed in 27 elementary STEAM labs, where thousands of students have access to them each week as part of their enrichment rotations. Students are learning that something as simple as cardboard can become almost anything they imagine when they have the right tools and techniques to bring an idea to life.\r\n\r\nStudents are now learning engineering and construction techniques such as tabs, hinges, folds, braces, slots, and moving connections, then applying them as they design and build their own prototypes. The new tools have made it dramatically easier for students to safely cut, shape, and connect cardboard, allowing them to spend less time struggling with the material and more time designing, testing, problem-solving, and improving their ideas. It has been wonderful to see their excitement as their designs move from an idea in their heads to something they can actually hold, test, and refine.\r\n\r\nAnd this is only the beginning! These tools will remain in our STEAM labs and be used throughout the year across multiple units, giving students countless opportunities to strengthen their engineering skills, think divergently, and invent in new ways. We are incredibly grateful that you believed in this vision and helped make hands-on engineering more accessible to our students.
