Students rotate through skill stations where they practice putting, chipping, aiming at targets, and participating in friendly team challenges. One of the most memorable moments came when students completed a mini golf skills course for the first time. They encouraged one another, celebrated successful shots, and showed incredible perseverance when learning difficult skills. Many students who are usually hesitant during sports activities became more confident and eager to participate because the equipment allowed them to experience success at their own level.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the golf equipment, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to explore the clubs, targets, and practice stations, and many shared that they had never played golf before. The new resources created a sense of curiosity and motivation that carried throughout the lessons. Students quickly became more engaged during class, asking thoughtful questions, practicing skills during free activity time, and cheering on their classmates during challenges and games.\r\n\r\nThanks to these resources, we are now able to expand our outdoor learning opportunities and continue building a comprehensive golf unit for students across multiple grade levels. Our next steps include introducing more advanced skill challenges, cooperative team competitions, and lessons focused on sportsmanship, strategy, and personal goal setting. Students are excited to continue improving their skills while developing healthy habits and confidence that can last far beyond the gymnasium and into their everyday lives.","fullyFundedDate":1777652653366,"projectUrl":"project/tee-up-for-success/10194666/","projectTitle":"Tee Up for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Lawson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5380552_orig.jpg?crop=1252,1252,x151,y259&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723056198018","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5380552"},{"teacherId":8626760,"projectId":9274420,"letterContent":"I'm beyond excited to share that our Drum Set project has been fully funded! Thanks to your kindness and generosity, my students will now have the opportunity to experience the joy and discipline that come with playing a real drum set. This addition will transform our music room — helping students explore rhythm, teamwork, and creativity in brand-new ways.\r\nFor many of my students, this will be their very first time sitting behind a drum kit, learning how each piece works together to create something amazing. Your support makes it possible for them to grow not only as musicians but also as confident, expressive individuals.\r\nThank you for believing in the power of music education and for investing in our young musicians. By providing a clear and consistent way to log laps and view progress, students have become more invested in their own physical activity. The digital tracking system creates a sense of ownership and accountability, as students can see their mileage increase over time and work toward personal or class goals. Many students who were previously less engaged in running activities are now more enthusiastic, striving to beat their own records or contribute to class challenges. The visual feedback—such as graphs, charts, or digital \"journeys\" tied to a theme—adds a layer of fun and relevance that has helped foster a more active, goal-oriented mindset among students of all ability levels.\r\n\r\nFrom a teaching perspective, the iPads have allowed for more efficient and accurate data collection, freeing up time that was previously spent on manual tracking. This has improved my ability to monitor student progress, differentiate support, and celebrate growth. I can now easily identify students who may need encouragement, as well as recognize those who are excelling and set new challenges for them. The data collected also provides valuable documentation that can be shared with parents, administrators, or used for student-led conferences. Overall, the use of iPads to track running mileage has elevated the quality of instruction and student engagement in PE, creating a more personalized, data-informed, and motivating environment for physical activity.","fullyFundedDate":1746787402314,"projectUrl":"project/managing-and-tracking-runners-mileage/9297038/","projectTitle":"Managing and Tracking Runner's Mileage","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Lawson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5380552_orig.jpg?crop=1252,1252,x151,y259&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723056198018","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5380552"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_11424","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":413,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":65,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.2,"schoolId":11424,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about E.S.
