One of my favorite things to see is students getting excited about choosing a book and finding a story that truly captures their attention. For many of my students, having a larger variety of books to choose from has made reading feel like something they want to do rather than something they simply have to do.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is a daily part of our routine. Students read independently, share books with partners, practice reading fluently, and talk about the characters, settings, problems, and lessons they discover in their stories. These new texts give us opportunities to practice important skills like identifying the main idea and key details, making predictions and inferences, describing characters, building vocabulary, making connections, and supporting our thinking with evidence from the text.\r\n\r\nI have especially loved watching some of my more hesitant readers become excited when they find a book that feels just right for them. Students who may have previously struggled to find something they wanted to read are now spending more time browsing our library, recommending books to their classmates, and asking when they will have time to read again. It has been so rewarding to see students' confidence grow as they discover that they really can be readers.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible for my students! Your generosity has helped us create a classroom library that encourages curiosity, builds literacy skills, and most importantly, helps children discover the joy of getting lost in a good book. These books will continue to be loved, read, shared, and enjoyed by my students throughout the school year and for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1784138924096,"projectUrl":"project/building-a-library-theyll-love/10371771/","projectTitle":"Building a Library They'll Love","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Prudente","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10510467_orig.jpg?crop=494,494,x0,y105&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1783612802752","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10510467"},{"teacherId":3666647,"projectId":9463369,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom! Your support has made a tremendous difference for both me and my students. Because of your kindness, our learning space is more organized and efficient, and my students are continuously learning the importance of organization as well.\r\n\r\nIn our school, the color blue represents Language Arts and yellow represents Math, so having our materials color-coded helps students easily identify and access what they need. The new mailbox system has been a game-changer—it allows students to quickly find their assignments for each subject and helps our classroom run smoothly.\r\n\r\nThe students are absolutely thrilled with the new whiteboards, markers, and erasers! They love being able to practice and show their work in a fun, hands-on way, instead of always working on paper. The calculators have also been an exciting new tool for them—they're learning how to use them effectively and enjoy checking their math work with confidence.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we now even have enough supplies to share with other classrooms, ensuring that students are never without the tools they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has truly enriched our classroom and inspired our students to learn with enthusiasm every day.
