It is important to create a classroom where students feel physically and emotionally safe, where they can take risks without fear of judgment and where they feel a sense of belonging. \r\n\r\nA part of fostering academic success is to maintain a clean, germ-free learning environment. This is difficult with 3-5 year old students. We use a lot of disinfecting wipes, baby wipes, and Kleenex. That is why my class was ecstatic to see the donated items. \r\n\r\nLastly, writing is a necessary part of our curriculum. We write throughout the day. The students love to show what they have learned in their journals, stations, and/or response cards.
