Students can now choose to sit or stand while taking notes, and the high tables have become useful for stations, small-group instruction, and one-on-one help. During a recent stations activity, I placed a computer on one of the countertops for a technology-based station, allowing students to quickly move from station to station. We also used the stools and tables during a mock trial, where students were able to use the different spaces to participate in roles such as being \"on the stand.\" My students were excited when they first saw the stools and immediately wanted to try them out. They have continued to enjoy having choices about where and how they sit during class.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I plan to continue using the stools and high tables as part of our everyday classroom activities, especially during stations, collaborative activities, and small-group instruction. Having flexible seating also allows me to work one-on-one with students at the high tables while the rest of the class continues working independently. Most importantly, the stools have given my students ownership over their learning environment and the flexibility to choose what works best for them. What started as six stools has become a valuable classroom resource that gives students more opportunities to move, collaborate, participate, and learn in a way that works for them.","fullyFundedDate":1783342995239,"projectUrl":"project/sit-where-you-grow/10355511/","projectTitle":"Sit Where You Grow","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10539607_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y772&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1782494880154","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10539607"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12957","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":689,"numTeachers":45,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":38,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":61.1,"schoolId":12957,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Henderson Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Henderson Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/henderson-independent-school-district/henderson-middle-school/12957"}
