The noise-cancelling headphones, base ten manipulatives, styluses, and iPad chargers are helping students focus, engage, and learn in new ways. The headphones provide quiet spaces for students who struggle with distractions, allowing them to build confidence during independent work and small groups. The iPad chargers ensure that technology is always available when we need it, eliminating the frustration of dead devices. Together, these resources are creating a more supportive and efficient learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe base ten manipulatives have been especially powerful in math. Instead of simply hearing about place value or regrouping, students are using the manipulatives to physically build and trade numbers, which makes abstract concepts concrete. During a recent subtraction lesson, I watched several students experience \"aha\" moments as they used the blocks to regroup tens and ones. The styluses have also elevated our technology use, helping students write, draw, and complete digital tasks with more accuracy. Their excitement when they first tried these tools was contagious—they immediately began brainstorming ways to use them for projects and practice.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue using the manipulatives to strengthen math foundations and the headphones to improve focus during reading groups. The styluses will support digital writing and creative presentations, while the chargers will ensure all students have consistent access to technology throughout the day. These tools are not just supplies—they are opportunities for students to feel successful, supported, and excited to learn. Thank you for helping make this possible. Your generosity is directly impacting my students' growth and their love of learning, and we are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1744062613166,"projectUrl":"project/resources-that-make-a-difference/9224903/","projectTitle":"Resources That Make a Difference","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Shguit","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5621263_orig.jpg?crop=1816,1816,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743652120419","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5621263"},{"teacherId":5621263,"projectId":9320932,"letterContent":"How Technology is Helping Our Students Learn\r\n\r\nMany of our donors use technology every day at home, but what makes technology in schools so powerful is the way it transforms learning into an interactive, hands-on experience. Our new 3D printer is a perfect example. Rather than just reading about technology or looking at pictures in a book, students are now able to design, create, and hold in their hands something that began as an idea on a screen. This process allows them to see the direct connection between imagination, problem-solving, and real-world application.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer has opened the door to conversations about engineering, design, and innovation that were once difficult to bring to life in a traditional classroom setting. Students are learning the basics of 3D technology—how digital designs translate into physical models, how layering works, and how precision and patience are essential in the design process. These lessons are building critical thinking, spatial reasoning, and creativity in ways that worksheets or lectures never could.\r\n\r\nWhat Excites Students the Most\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for our students is watching their digital ideas come to life right before their eyes. When they see the printer slowly build layer upon layer until their design is complete, the excitement in the room is contagious. For many of them, it feels like magic—except they know it is science, technology, and engineering at work. The 3D printer gives them the chance to experiment, make mistakes, and improve their designs, which makes learning feel like an adventure.\r\n\r\nStudents are also motivated by the incentives connected to using the 3D printer. We've tied access to the printer to positive academic effort and behavior, which means students see it not just as a fun tool, but as something to work toward. This has created a strong sense of responsibility and pride. They understand that learning new skills and making good choices can lead to exciting opportunities.\r\n\r\nStudents Who Have Warmed to the Technology\r\n\r\nWhile all students have shown interest, a few in particular have truly blossomed since the introduction of the 3D printer. Some of our quieter students, who may not always feel comfortable speaking out in class, have found a voice through design. They enjoy showing their peers what they've created and explaining how the printer works. Others who often struggle with traditional assignments have discovered a new source of confidence by succeeding in this more hands-on, visual learning environment.\r\n\r\nIn short, the 3D printer has become more than just a piece of technology—it's a tool for inspiration, growth, and motivation. It excites students, teaches them valuable skills, and provides incentives that encourage positive choices. Most importantly, it is helping our students see themselves as innovators, creators, and problem-solvers.","fullyFundedDate":1746998935197,"projectUrl":"project/3d-printer/9320932/","projectTitle":"3D Printer","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Shguit","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5621263_orig.jpg?crop=1816,1816,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743652120419","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5621263"},{"teacherId":9219355,"projectId":9295552,"letterContent":"When our students first saw the new sensory rainbow path with Pete the Cat decals, their eyes lit up with excitement. Many of them couldn't wait to try it out, and it quickly became a favorite part of their day. What was even more meaningful, though, was watching how the path immediately gave students who struggle with focus and emotional regulation a safe and fun way to reset. Instead of feeling overwhelmed during transitions or when big feelings arose, they were able to take a few calming steps along the path and return to class ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe are already using the path daily as part of our classroom routines. For example, one of my students who often has difficulty during morning arrival now walks the path before unpacking. This small adjustment helps ease her anxiety and sets a positive tone for the rest of her day. Another student uses the path between reading and math lessons, giving him the movement break he needs to stay engaged. These small but powerful moments show how the path supports students in ways that are both practical and joyful.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to integrate the path into group activities and social-emotional learning lessons, teaching students how movement and mindfulness can be tools for self-regulation. Your gift is helping us build not just academic skills but also life skills that empower students to manage their emotions and be successful in any setting. Thank you for believing in our kids and giving them the chance to shine.","fullyFundedDate":1750256197609,"projectUrl":"project/step-into-inclusion-creating-a-sensory/9295552/","projectTitle":"Step Into Inclusion: Creating a Sensory Path for All Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9219355_orig.jpg?crop=2100,2100,x0,y105&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1745942505342","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9219355"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12630","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":575,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":75,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.7,"schoolId":12630,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Eisenhower Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Eisenhower Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/grand-prairie-independent-school-district/eisenhower-elementary-school/12630"}
