I explained that generous donors had blessed us with these items to help them when they have difficulty regulating their emotions. The donations make them feel special and encouraged that people they do not know care enough about them to help them develop and grow in their learning environment. \r\n\r\nOur next steps for our students in our current classroom lesson is for the students to continue in their special education curriculum--in which they are focusing on reading and writing. Their goal is to write paragraphs and send out brief thank-you/encouragement letters to military servicemembers and veterans. \r\n\r\nAs mentioned earlier, our campus is a Title 1 school where in many families, there are not resources for \"extra\" comforts such as a calming corner. The resources I have received are already being put to good use. For example, the drawers have been so helpful in storing student artwork and keeping my classroom organized. The dishcloths are helping keep my classroom clean. Students have also been excited to use the tempera paint and aprons for painting projects.\r\n\r\nI look forward to continuing to use the rest of the resources for many more engaging art projects, especially 3D projects, which the students get extra excited about.\r\n\r\nYour support of art education is so important and valuable in giving students the opportunity to express themselves creatively.
