My students are bilingual, hard-working, economically disadvantaged students. My school is 90% economically challenged and Hispanic. My students are learning two languages and need to be constantly challenged and motivated. Some of them tell me that their parents have already told them they can't go to college because they don't have any money. I tell them about scholarships, the Dallas Promise and different ways they can continue their education after high school.
