The first event we offered was in the library about a week before their BIG state exams. Keep in mind, we targeted the 3rd-grade students who were taking these tests for the first time. The majority of them were nervous about at least one of those tests. Those poor children take reading, math, and writing tests in a span of a few weeks, lots of pressure. \r\n\r\nSo, these children walk into the library and they step on the bubble wrap, and it scared them at first, but they were told to take a deep breath and pop as many as possible. They were jumping, dancing, on their knees, pushing down with their palms, and stomping....instant stress release!\r\n\r\nThey proceeded to the library tables where a marble maze, a coaster kit, and sensory bins awaited them. Eyes were nearly popping out!! I was able to witness their inner child come back to life and play trouble-free. They spent about an hour rotating between the stations, laughing, talking, eating donuts (for \"donut stress before the tests), and most importantly, they were NOT thinking about the tests.\r\n\r\nIt was a beautiful thing to witness and be a part of, but none of this would have been possible without you generous donations and support for my students. These materials will continue to serve the students at our campus. As a matter of fact, we had a Kindergardener who had anxiety issues the first weeks of school this school year. They brought the student to the library to play at the sensory bins with the tweezers and scoopers. It's amazing to see how they change with some playtime. \r\n\r\nThank you once again. May God bless you always and continue to fill your lives with love and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1772734696379,"projectUrl":"project/release-any-stress-before-the-tests/10117541/","projectTitle":"Release any Stress before the Tests","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Betancourt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6714198_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651552266956","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6714198"},{"teacherId":3059725,"projectId":10275301,"letterContent":"I truly appreciate the classroom materials that you donated. We installed the fluorescent light covers first, which instantly softened our bright overhead lighting and created a calm, sensory-friendly atmosphere. During our center rotations, students have been using the grocery baskets, dish sets, and wooden play food to run a bustling classroom grocery market. Nearby, others work together to build delivery trucks using the soft building blocks and structure complex paths using the marble run. It is incredible to watch them naturally collaborate, share, and communicate with so many rich, engaging materials. The day the boxes arrived felt like a holiday, and the students gasped with pure delight as each item was unboxed. There were literal cheers when they spotted classic games like Hi Ho! Cherry-O, Candy Land, and Pop Up Pirate. A small group immediately huddled around the liquid motion bubblers with wide, mesmerized eyes, while others eagerly grabbed the stretchy strings and fidget packs. Students who typically struggle with morning transitions were suddenly sprinting to the carpet, filled with smiles, laughter, and an immediate energy to start learning and playing together.Moving forward, our next steps involve integrating these resources into targeted academic lessons and daily routines. In math, we will use the counting dinosaurs and mini animal figures for advanced sorting, patterning, and data graphing projects. For science, the marble run will serve as our hands-on engineering lab to test gravity and momentum, while the bubble wands will help us study wind direction outdoors. Finally, we will use the walking ropes during transition times to practice safe walking habits, teamwork, and gross motor skills during our outdoor adventures.","fullyFundedDate":1781365318503,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-low-income-autistic-students/10177792/","projectTitle":"Supporting Low-income, Autistic Students with Essential Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fabela","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10473567_orig.jpg?crop=2161,2161,x0,y887&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775161817221","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10473567"},{"teacherId":2504500,"projectId":10275986,"letterContent":"I would like to thank you on behalf of my students and myself!
