The materials I'm requesting will be used to build a Lego Wall in the school library. We have been slowly renovating and updating the learning space to accommodate for various learning styles. One of the components we need is a Makerspace and materials/supplies to ensure the proper use. Recently, there has been a drastic shift towards teaching with devices; my district is now a 1-to-1 device district, but I don't want to forgot the hands-on learning that can never be replaced with any technology. Don't get me wrong, I know technology, STEM/STEAM programs are important, but so is Social Emotional Learning. These materials will be mainly housed and used on campus as a component of the Makerspace, but with enough materials, Take-Home Kits can be assembled for students to use at home. I envision lessons that will require students to build on what they (we) read and cover during class. Then they can showcase, present, and answer questions from fellow classmates.
