Your contribution has made a meaningful impact on our classroom, and we are so grateful for your support in helping us expand our learning opportunities.\r\n\r\nThe new equipment has already become an integral part of our lessons. Students are thrilled to explore new techniques and create meals in a more efficient and safe manner. A recent project we embarked on involved preparing a nutritious, simple meal, which was part of a larger lesson on meal planning and food safety. Using the new tools, students learned how to safely chop, sauté, and measure ingredients. The joy they expressed when they first saw the new equipment was truly unforgettable – their eyes lit up, and many remarked that they had never used such professional-grade tools before. It was a moment of excitement and pride for all of us.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the new equipment will continue to play a vital role in our daily living skills curriculum. The next steps will involve a deeper dive into meal prep techniques, where students will begin planning, cooking, and serving full meals for themselves and the class. This hands-on approach not only teaches important life skills but also boosts their confidence and independence. We're excited to see the positive impact these lessons will have on their everyday lives.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for your thoughtful contribution. Your donation has made a lasting difference in our students' lives, and we can't wait to continue learning and growing with the support of kind-hearted donors like you.","fullyFundedDate":1695090104627,"projectUrl":"project/science-though-healthy-meals/7812123/","projectTitle":"Science though Healthy Meals!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Vazquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6167854_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1574494420311","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/vazquezspecialed"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15430","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1478,"numTeachers":114,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":94,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.9,"schoolId":15430,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Thomas Jefferson High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Thomas Jefferson High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/dallas-independent-school-district/thomas-jefferson-high-school/15430"}
