All year, my students and I work incredibly hard to prepare for their end-of-course exams; most of my students are below grade level and reading and struggle with test anxiety. While most of my students began the year with enthusiasm and motivation, as the year has progressed and they have dealt with the trauma of losing their school, as well as the everyday traumas of being teenagers, they are finding it incredibly hard to stay motivated as the test approaches. The rewards and incentives are to provide my kids with rewards and prizes to show them their hard work is appreciated and remind them that it will pay off!
