They are excited about using technology because it brings learning to life and gives them opportunities to practice important skills in fun and meaningful ways. Earbuds and headphones will allow my students to listen carefully to educational videos, interactive lessons, audiobooks, and learning programs while working independently at their own pace. Having access to these tools will help reduce distractions, improve focus, and give every student the opportunity to hear instruction clearly and confidently engage in technology-based learning.\r\n\r\nWhile technology opens the door to exciting learning experiences, my students also need basic classroom supplies to turn what they learn into action. Pencils and red colored pencils will help them solve problems, write their ideas, make corrections, and celebrate their progress. Whiteboard erasers will allow students to participate in hands-on lessons where they can solve a problem, erase it, try again, and learn that making mistakes is an important part of learning. These may seem like simple supplies, but in a classroom serving 60 students, they make a tremendous difference. Having the right tools readily available means we can spend more time learning, creating, collaborating, and building confidence.\r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering supporting our classroom. Your donation of headphones, earbuds, pencils, red colored pencils, and whiteboard erasers is more than a gift of school supplies—it is an investment in 60 young learners and their future. Your generosity will help ensure that my students have the tools they need to participate, stay engaged, and experience the joy of learning every day. I am incredibly grateful for donors like you who believe in teachers, classrooms, and, most importantly, our children. They are able to create precious memories to keep and share with others. Projects are preserved.\r\n\r\nEach day students use the dry erase markers and erasers. Together, we opened the boxes, learned how to safely use each tool, and got to work tightening loose screws and stabilizing wobbly tables. It became an instant hands-on STEM moment about problem solving and teamwork.\r\n\r\nNow, our classroom feels brand new. Students take pride in caring for their space, and they've even started suggesting creative display ideas using the new tools. We recently used them to build and hang colorful showcase boards for our \"Genius Lab 626\" projects and student-created artwork in the hallway. Watching their faces light up as they saw their work displayed for everyone to see was priceless—one student said, \"It looks like a museum of our ideas!\"\r\n\r\nThese tools have given my students ownership of their learning environment and a sense of responsibility that goes far beyond fixing desks. Our next step is to expand this creativity by designing interactive learning stations and display spaces around the school where other students can explore what our gifted learners create.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our students don't just learn in their classroom—they build it, care for it, and make it shine.","fullyFundedDate":1752448596390,"projectUrl":"project/fix-build-learn-a-hardware-project/9451647/","projectTitle":"Fix, Build, Learn: A Hardware Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. V","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5699362_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724609534839","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5699362"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_18393","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":346,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":84,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":63.5,"schoolId":18393,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Oran M Roberts Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Oran M Roberts Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/dallas-independent-school-district/oran-m-roberts-elementary-school/18393"}
