One student even said they loved the pencils because using them felt \"almost like tracing,\" because drawing was so much easier with good pencils.\r\n\r\nWe have used these pencils to illustrate art books, practice various types of contour drawing, and learn grid drawing. We are now learning what the letters and numbers on our drawing pencils mean and how to use this information to achieve a full value range.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your donation! Since my students saw our shiny new box of paintbrushes, they have been begging to paint even though we are currently in our drawing unit. It was nice to see the kids so excited about art, so I decided to incorporate some mixed-media work into our drawing unit. \r\n\r\nMy 6th graders used watercolors to color in the zentangles we were drawing, and the fine tips on these paintbrushes let them paint the intricate patterns they designed without getting frustrated.\r\n\r\nMy 7th graders incorporated watercolors into their independent artistic research and experimented with everything from swatching colors to painting characters they designed. \r\n\r\nMy 8th graders drew portraits using continuous contour techniques and had so much fun painting the background of their portraits with an abstract watercolor design.\r\n\r\nMy high school students haven't had a chance to use the paintbrushes yet because we are in the middle of a unit that wouldn't allow for paint to be incorporated very well, but they are equally excited to start using these paintbrushes!
