When our new lightbulbs were installed, our cozy classroom felt more like an institution. The blue covers we have on all of our lights, have really helped us get back to a more natural feel in addition to helping our pre-k class to not be so overstimulated during learning time. \r\n Additionally, there is an ever growing push for academic knowledge younger and younger and while we want our children to learn their academic content, at ages 3-5, research shows that children learn best through play. The letter beads that we can string on a necklace or pipe cleaner help with this goal! The children have matched their name cards to the letters to make name necklaces and build their fine motor skills at the same time without even knowing it. They even made me one with my name on it which I wore around proudly! Similarly, the light table adds a fun element to our science center and we have been using the transparent letters and numbers to count, match, and build in the science area. \r\n We are abundantly thankful for your generosity, and have included some photos to show how we are using our new items!","fullyFundedDate":1761532720651,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-huletts-class/9859025/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Hulett’s Class","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hulett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9993685_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747683266393","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9993685"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15056","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":509,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":21,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":76,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"17.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":56.9,"schoolId":15056,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dalhart Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dalhart Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/dalhart-independent-school-district/dalhart-elementary-school/15056"}
