The hygiene supplies and organizational materials from this project have become part of our daily morning routine. Students now take pride in brushing their hair, washing their hands, and organizing their personal items before starting lessons — helping them build independence and confidence.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment was watching one of our students proudly show off his \"morning check-in station,\" saying, \"I'm ready for school!\" That simple statement represented a huge step toward independence and self-awareness. These resources have not only improved hygiene and preparedness but have also encouraged self-care as part of our life skills curriculum.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They immediately wanted to explore each item — from the new grooming kits to the labeled supply bins. The sense of ownership and pride they now show in maintaining their space and appearance has been incredible to witness.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the semester, our next step is expanding these routines into community-based learning. Students will use the skills they've practiced in class — like personal hygiene, organizing materials, and self-advocacy — during outings and job-readiness activities. Because of you, our students are not only clean and prepared but also confident and empowered to take on new challenges every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and helping us create an environment where they can thrive — one routine, one smile, and one success at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1760039303259,"projectUrl":"project/clean-and-prepared-essentials-for-stude/9691531/","projectTitle":"Clean and Prepared: Essentials for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Moncada","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6593044"},{"teacherId":6593044,"projectId":9082322,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for your kindness and generosity in supporting our project, Calming Supports for Sensory Needs in Our Autism Classroom. Your contribution means so much to our students and our classroom community. Because of you, we are able to provide calming, sensory-friendly tools that help our students regulate, feel comfortable, and be ready to learn each day.\r\n\r\nThese supports will make a huge difference for our students with autism. Sensory tools like fidgets, weighted items, and calming visuals help reduce anxiety, support focus, and provide comfort during challenging moments. By having access to these resources in our classroom, students can engage more fully in lessons, participate in group activities, and feel safe in their learning environment.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their success. These materials have transformed our classroom, creating a calm and focused testing environment. Properly fitting headphones and dividers help students concentrate, while handheld fidgets, kick bands, line readers, and snacks provide comfort and ease during stressful tests, significantly reducing anxiety. Beyond testing, these additions have fostered a sense of care and support that students deeply appreciate. Now, every Wednesday, we wear these shirts, creating a visible and cohesive identity for the Running Club. This tradition has also increased awareness of the club throughout the school.
