These materials will allow a calming area for students when they get over-stimulated when working on their assignments. This will allow the student to calm down in a relaxing environment so they are then able to return to the learning environment refreshed and ready to continue learning. This will also help students to keep from getting too worked up and prevent self-harm behaviors which are common when autistic children become frustrated. A sensory room can mean all the difference in the education of a child with autism. This gives them the opportunity to learn at their own pace while providing breaks to ensure they learn in a productive environment that takes their disability and special needs into account.
