In our Principles of Business, Marketing & Finance class, we focus on connecting business concepts to the real world, and having engaging classroom materials has helped make those lessons more hands-on and exciting.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was when students created their own brands. They learned about target markets, branding, and marketing functions, then designed their own business logos and brand identities. Students were excited to see their ideas displayed around the classroom and enjoyed being able to create something that felt like a real business project.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were excited and immediately wanted to know what we would be using them for. Having resources that make our classroom feel more like a creative business environment has helped create a space where students feel comfortable sharing ideas, working together, and thinking like young entrepreneurs.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building on what we have learned about brands, target markets, and marketing functions. Students will begin applying these concepts to real-world businesses and eventually develop their own marketing ideas and strategies. My goal is for students to leave the classroom understanding that the skills they are learning can be used in high school, college, future careers, and even businesses of their own.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where they can learn, create, and see themselves as future business leaders. Your support is helping make these lessons more engaging and giving my students opportunities to learn in ways that go beyond a textbook.","fullyFundedDate":1786367039944,"projectUrl":"project/26-27-business-and-marketing-class/10360012/","projectTitle":"26-27 Business and Marketing Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Whipple","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10541631"},{"teacherId":9973034,"projectId":10193060,"letterContent":"I am so excited that this project was funded! My students are constantly using technology for lessons, assignments, reading supports, and interactive activities, but a busy classroom can sometimes make it hard for them to focus. Something as simple as having access to headphones can make a huge difference for a student who needs to listen closely, block out distractions, or work independently.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students now have headphones and noise-canceling headphones available when they need them. They can use them while listening to instructional videos, using text-to-speech, completing interactive lessons, or simply when they need a quieter space to concentrate. For some of my students, having the ability to reduce distractions can be the difference between feeling frustrated and being able to successfully complete their work.\r\n\r\nThese may seem like simple tools, but they will make a real difference in our classroom. My students will have another resource that helps them learn in a way that works best for them. Because of your kindness, our students were fully fueled and ready to learn during every single after-school session this year!\r\n\r\nIt is hard to overstate the impact that something as simple as a nutritious after-school snack can have on a middle schooler. After a long, demanding school day, our 8th graders often come to tutorials tired and hungry. Having snacks waiting for them transformed those sessions completely. Instead of feeling drained, our students were energized, focused, and eager to dive into rigorous Science material.\r\n\r\nYour support did far more than just fill hungry bellies; it built a culture of enthusiasm and dedication. Knowing that people out there believed in them and cared about their success gave our kids a tremendous boost in confidence. Because of the steady support and attendance driven by these after-school snacks, our Science team was able to reach and retain more students than ever before. That extra time, focus, and dedication paid off in the biggest way possible: our Science performance grew enough students to elevate our entire school to an 'A' rating! This huge milestone belongs to you just as much as it belongs to our students and staff. You helped eliminate a daily barrier to learning and gave our kids the spark they needed to achieve excellence.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students, believing in their potential, and making a lasting difference in our school community.","fullyFundedDate":1776111689590,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-minds-after-the-bell/10068466/","projectTitle":"Fueling Minds After the Bell","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Theiss","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6896384_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y116&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1615481176478","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrstheiss"},{"teacherId":9720598,"projectId":9627759,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom. The materials you provided will make a tremendous difference as students explore one of the most important concepts in astronomy, for example the Hertzsprung-Russell (HR) Diagram. With black construction paper serving as a \"space backdrop,\" students will be able to plot stars visually and better understand how luminosity and temperature are connected. The addition of watercolor supplies, including food coloring and watercolor paper, will allow students to represent star temperatures through blended gradients, helping them grasp that blue stars are actually the hottest, while red stars are the coolest. A common misconception this activity helps to correct.\r\n\r\nYour donation of paint brushes and confetti will further enhance student engagement and understanding. Paint brushes will help students shade and blend colors smoothly, illustrating the progression from blue supergiant's to red dwarfs. Meanwhile, confetti will act as individual stars that students can place on their diagrams to show clusters and brightness patterns, creating an interactive and meaningful learning experience. These hands-on tools will not only support comprehension of a challenging topic, but also allow students to build diagrams that can be displayed, reviewed, and referenced throughout the unit. We are deeply grateful for your support and excited to put these materials to use in enriching our students' learning.","fullyFundedDate":1763575102658,"projectUrl":"project/coloring-the-cosmos/9887546/","projectTitle":"Coloring the Cosmos","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Theiss","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6896384_orig.jpg?crop=2320,2320,x0,y116&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1615481176478","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrstheiss"},{"teacherId":6896384,"projectId":9335656,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and support of our 8th grade Science classroom.
