I teach 7th grade math at a Title I school in Conroe, Texas. My students are your average 12 and 13 year olds who cannot sit still for long periods of time or grasp concepts that are not concrete. My students learn best by giving them something to hold and manipulate. This allows them to discover how math concepts work in the real world. Discovering how they can use them makes learning the information more important to them because now they see a purpose to it.
