This means so much for my students and I. We did an unboxing of the new materials each day as they arrived and my students eyes lit up with delight. They could hardly wait to get their hands on the new materials. \r\n\r\nLittle by little we have begun to introduce these materials at centers time. A favorite so far are the light table blocks. They went perfectly with our unit on community helpers, specifically construction workers. Students are now construction workers themselves using these fun, colorful blocks. \r\n\r\nThe biggest impact has been the kinetic sand. Students have been using that as a way to calm down when they are upset. The calm and soothing texture really sets a tone for one's mood. \r\n\r\nThank you again for all your help with this project. It is truly appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1737731110187,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-learning-for-the-younge/8987421/","projectTitle":"Social Emotional Learning for the Youngest Learners!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Valladolid","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6032938_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720704498271","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6032938"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_8083","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":582,"numTeachers":55,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":25,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"10.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":8083,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about College Hills Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"College Hills Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/college-station-independent-school-district/college-hills-elementary-school/8083"}
