The excitement has been contagious—they love seeing their ideas come to life in big, colorful posters that everyone can use and learn from.\r\nInstead of relying on limited pre-made visuals, we now have the ability to create bilingual anchor charts in English and Spanish, tailored to what our learners truly need. Students are not only using the printer for academic charts, but they're also brainstorming designs for upcoming holidays and historical events. Each new poster brings them a sense of pride and ownership.\r\nAlong with the printer, our classroom also gained a big timer, which we use to keep track of iReady minutes. This has made practice time feel more structured and motivating. In addition, students can now earn erasable pens as prizes when they complete a perfect dictado four times in a row. These small rewards have made a big impact on student motivation and excitement for learning.\r\nThis project has turned our classroom into a creative gallery of learning. Walls that once held store-bought posters now showcase student work that reflects their voices, cultures, and creativity. Your support has made this possible, and the impact will last for many years of bilingual learners to come.","fullyFundedDate":1750412427553,"projectUrl":"project/let-my-students-be-the-designers-of-lear/9412680/","projectTitle":"Let My Students Be the Designers of Learning!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. De Santiago","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10055920_orig.jpg?crop=869,870,x217,y123&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749826768087","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10055920"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16344","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":920,"numTeachers":57,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":92,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.9,"schoolId":16344,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about William D Surratt Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"William D Surratt Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/clint-independent-school-district/william-d-surratt-elementary-school/16344"}
