In doing that, using and setting up our online resources has been important. Making sure that every student has fair access to these online resources is such an exciting thing to be able to provide! All of my students in class have a set of headphones to use that makes listening to audio books, doing online activities, and integrating technology inclusive and much easier this year. \r\n\r\nHaving students be able to access online resources also helps me be able to meet with students who need intervention time while others work independently on the assignments and practice that they need. Something to note; many of these online resources are made to gauge student levels and curate the practice/learning experience to the individual student. That is incredible! What may look like play to someone else is actually helping my students build the skills they need for greater independence in everyday activities.\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were so excited to explore them! The marble runs especially caught their attention, and they couldn't wait to start building and watching the marbles travel through the different pieces. I have loved watching them problem-solve, work with their hands, and celebrate when they successfully complete a task. The microphone on the headset will allow them to speak their answers to extended response questions. This improves their confidence. They often know the answer but are unable to get their ideas down correctly. \r\n\r\nWe truly appreciate your generosity. My hope is that they will feel more confident when typing assignments. My 6th grade ELA students were so excited when they saw the new markers, chart markers, organizational boxes, and bags arrive. They immediately noticed that our classroom was easier to navigate and couldn't wait to use the colorful supplies for their learning activities. Their excitement was contagious, and they felt proud knowing that people they had never met believed in them enough to support their education.\r\n\r\nWe have already begun using these resources every day. The organizational boxes and bags have made it easy for students to quickly access supplies during independent work, partner activities, and small-group instruction. Instead of spending valuable class time searching for materials, students can immediately begin learning. This has helped our classroom run more smoothly and has encouraged students to take responsibility for keeping our learning space organized.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite projects so far has been creating colorful anchor charts and visual reading responses. Students used the markers to color-code text evidence, identify themes, and organize their ideas before writing. During our argumentative writing unit, students worked together to create claim-and-evidence posters that helped them practice supporting their opinions with strong textual evidence. The chart markers have also allowed us to build classroom anchor charts that students refer to daily as they strengthen their reading and writing skills.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these materials will support even more engaging lessons. My students will use them during literature circles, vocabulary activities, essay planning, STAAR writing practice, and collaborative projects that encourage critical thinking and creativity.
