They were excited because we got extra highlighters in case any would run out.\r\n The strategies that we use in my classroom has helped all my student populations including my English Language Learners and Special Education students. Knowing that they have written a complete response by using the necessary colors for each of the sections has made them feel successful and unafraid of writing an essay. \r\n My students just took their state RLA exam and were excited and confident that they were successful because they had the necessary materials to help them succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1739061177060,"projectUrl":"project/colorful-writing/9038912/","projectTitle":"Colorful Writing","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Romero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7096234_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757726505544","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7096234"},{"teacherId":7096234,"projectId":9020362,"letterContent":"I want to thank you for donating to my class. With your help, I was able to take the first step and provide a novel of which they had only read an excerpt in their district basal book. The headphones that were donated have helped all my students especially my special populations (ELLs and IEP students). \r\nMy IEP students have been able to obtain their oral administration and their speech to text accommodations. These headphones have helped them feel confident while working on their assignments. They have mentioned that the microphone picks up their voices clearly and that the voice typing program has not had any glitches since they started using their new headphones.\r\nOn the other hand, my ELLs have been able to practice their oral language development by using the microphones to record themselves talking and practicing on state-mandated oral language measurement tests. This tool has helped them improve on how to speak clearly in their new language in order for them to be understood not only by their peers, but on the programs that they are working on. Some of my students have even asked their peers to listen to their voice recordings and give them feedback on how they are improving their oral skills.\r\nThe students were really excited to get a pair for themselves and not have to wait for a pair to be available. They took ownership by placing their numbers on them. They have been taking very good care of them because they are very excited that people who do not know them donated for them to have this tool available in their classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1726767621379,"projectUrl":"project/can-you-hear-it/8796203/","projectTitle":"Can You Hear It?","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Romero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7096234_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757726505544","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7096234"},{"teacherId":6625814,"projectId":8733668,"letterContent":"The headphones are helping my students to listen to lessons at their own pace, pausing and replaying content as needed, which is beneficial for my students with different learning speeds. Headphones are helping block out noise and other distractions, allowing my students to concentrate better on their work, whether it's listening to audio-based lessons or engaging in independent tasks. This is especially helpful in busy or noisy environments like my classroom or study areas.\r\n What is most exciting about the new product for my students is that they enjoy crystal-clear sound when listening to educational podcasts, audiobooks, or instructional videos. This makes learning more enjoyable, especially for content like music, language lessons, or storytelling. Some students enjoy using headphones to listen to music that helps them focus while they study or do assignments. Music is a powerful tool for creating a positive, motivating atmosphere for learning.\r\n Yes, certain of my students may be particularly excited or find specific benefits in using headphones for learning, and these include my students who experience learning challenges or who have specific needs. Students listen closely to the correct pronunciation of words and repeat them to improve their speech. Apps or podcasts with native speakers can enhance language acquisition.","fullyFundedDate":1725887548398,"projectUrl":"project/can-you-hear-what-i-hear/8733668/","projectTitle":"Can You Hear What I Hear?","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Aldape","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6625814_orig.jpg?crop=809,810,x0,y5&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726804446379","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6625814"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_8256","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":677,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":98,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":40.0,"schoolId":8256,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Champion Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Champion Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/brownsville-independent-school-district/champion-elementary-school/8256"}
