The students are having fun by being able to play and learn at the same time. This has been an exciting change in the direction I teach. There has also been a positive shift in class. Students are now more engaged and focused. It was a beautiful and emotional moment.\r\n\r\nDuring the rehearsal, when the students first saw the goodie bags and medals, their faces lit up with excitement and pride. For many of them, this was the very first time they had received a medal, and it meant the world. I saw students proudly wearing their medals all day, taking pictures with friends and family, and sharing smiles and even tears of joy. It was truly moving to witness.\r\n\r\nIn all my years at this school, this was the first time we were able to do something so special for every student. The medals and goodie bags symbolized more than just a celebration—they represented recognition, encouragement, and the belief that they are seen and valued.\r\n\r\nAs we close out the year, the next steps for these students are to carry this moment of recognition with them as they step into high school with confidence. The kids had so much fun using the blood pressure cuffs and the stethoscopes on our vital signs day. We'll have visiting physicians again on that day to show the kids how to use a reflex hammer and look into each other's eyes, throats, and ears. They will have a blast! We had been practicing on my personal Nintendo switch and controllers that were all 6 plus years old.\r\nWe brought 12 students to the first in person district wide Middle School and High School tournament, and will be going to two more this year. One of our first projects involved designing and printing school-branded hall passes for every classroom. Each pass is unique, and the students are brimming with pride knowing they contributed to something used daily by our entire school community.\r\n\r\nBeyond that, the students have amazed us with their creativity and problem-solving skills through Shark Tank style demonstrations, showcasing how 3D printing can benefit society. From designing practical items like phone holders to whimsical inventions like shock-absorbing helmets for kittens, their imaginations are proving that the future is within their grasp.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printers have also supported other programs on campus. Our Cosmetology afterschool program gained district-wide attention during their December showcase, our classes were able to produce organizational stations that the program instructor was able to include in their completion gift package, again showcasing the possibilities available. Now that they have these new glasses they feel very adult now that they are glasses instead of rubber goggles. They love wearing them and picking the colors they like. They've been very careful to treat them with care and to wear them the entire lab for safety.
