My students now have comfortable and inviting spaces where they can settle in with a book and truly enjoy the reading experience. Instead of sitting at their desk students can choose a cozy spot that helps them feel relaxed, comfortable, and ready to focus. The bean sitting has created a classroom environment where reading feels like something to look forward to. \r\n\r\nI have especially enjoyed watching my students use these spaces during independent reading. They are able to spread out, get comfortable, and spend meaningful time engaged with their books. For many of my students, having a comfortable place to read has made reading feel less like an assignment and more like something they can enjoy. The photos show my students using the bean seating exactly as we hoped—as a place to relax, read, and build their reading stamina.\r\n\r\nI am so grateful to the SONIC Foundation who made this project possible.
