Even though we have only been in school for about a month, I can already see a difference in my students because of the support and resources you have helped provide. Your generosity has helped me create a classroom environment where my students feel safe, supported, organized, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest changes I have noticed is the way my students are learning to manage their emotions. With the tools available in our classroom, they have a safe space where they can take a moment to calm down, breathe, and reset when they are feeling upset, sad, frustrated, or overwhelmed. For second graders, learning how to identify and manage big emotions is such an important part of their development. Having these resources allows me to teach them that it is okay to have strong feelings and, more importantly, that they can learn healthy ways to work through those feelings.\r\n\r\nYou have also helped us become more organized! My students now have a special place to keep all of their important papers and materials. This may seem like a small thing, but it has made a big difference in our daily routines. My students are learning how to take responsibility for their belongings, keep track of their work, and take pride in their classroom. These are skills that will benefit them far beyond second grade.\r\n\r\nAnd, of course, we cannot forget the classroom phone! My students absolutely love having a phone to report every little thing happening in our classroom. 😂 They have quickly learned that it is their official \"tell on my classmates\" hotline whenever someone does something they consider mean or unfair. While it definitely keeps me entertained, it has also opened the door for conversations about problem-solving, kindness, conflict resolution, and knowing when an adult really needs to be involved. Sometimes those funny moments turn into some of our best teaching moments.\r\n\r\nThis school year has started off much smoother than many previous years, and I truly believe that having the right resources has played a major role in that. When students have the tools they need to regulate their emotions, stay organized, feel comfortable, and communicate their needs, they are better prepared to focus on learning.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped me do more than simply add supplies to my classroom. You have helped me build a foundation for my students. You have given them tools that encourage independence, responsibility, emotional regulation, kindness, and confidence.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for investing in my students and believing in our classroom. Through your donations, my scholars have been able to see themselves shine through creative writing, personal expression, and academic achievement. The joy my students share when they are able to use ther creativity in the classroom is truly inspiring. Our school doesn't offer art classes, so these materials are a great way for children to explore their more artistic ideas - through free drawing, prompted writng, and more. \r\nMy students were very excited to see what all we had received. They take care of all materials in our space. Any chance they get to deviate a bit from the structure of every day curriculum, they jump at it.
