Because of your generosity, our school library was transformed into a more efficient, student-centered, and empowering space for readers in grades 3–5.\r\nThe scanners, adapters, and desk clamps made it possible to create a fully functional self-checkout station for students. This immediately reduced long checkout lines and allowed library visits to run more smoothly, giving students more time to browse, explore, and enjoy books rather than waiting for assistance. The improved flow also made it easier for entire classes to check out materials during limited library time.\r\nMost importantly, this project promoted independence and responsibility. Students loved being trusted to check out their own books, and many took pride in learning how the system worked. This sense of ownership increased confidence, accountability, and respect for library procedures. Students quickly became helpers to one another, reinforcing collaboration and problem-solving skills.\r\nThe self-checkout station also supported accessibility and inclusion. Students who were shy, needed a quieter interaction, or benefitted from predictable routines felt more comfortable checking out books independently. This allowed every student to engage with the library in a way that met their needs.\r\nBecause of your support, the library became a place where students felt empowered and capable—not just as readers, but as responsible learners. Your donation had a lasting impact on how students interact with books and with the library itself.
