Every day, students are using these materials to design, test, and refine their thinking.\r\n\r\nOne standout moment came during a recent engineering challenge where students used popsicle sticks and tap-n-glue caps to design and build bridges. They sketched their ideas on copy paper, carefully measured and adjusted their designs, and worked collaboratively to solve structural problems. When one group's bridge collapsed during testing, instead of frustration, there was excitement—they immediately began redesigning, using what they had learned. That moment perfectly captured the resilience and problem-solving mindset we strive to build.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, their reaction was pure excitement. The simple addition of organized supplies like mechanical pencils, erasers, and the pencil parking station made them feel like real scientists and engineers. The jumbo coordinate plane stamp quickly became a favorite tool—students loved being able to instantly create graphs to visualize their data, turning abstract math concepts into something concrete and meaningful.\r\n\r\nThese resources have allowed students to take ownership of their learning. In our heat transfer labs, for example, students used red and blue pencils to map temperature changes, making invisible energy flow visible. In math, they are more willing to revise and refine their work because they now have the tools to do so easily and neatly.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will continue to build on these experiences through more complex STEM challenges. They are currently beginning a project where they will design models of ecosystems and analyze data they collect, using graphs and visual representations to explain their findings. With these materials, they are better prepared to think critically, collaborate effectively, and communicate their ideas clearly.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom is a place where curiosity leads the way, mistakes are part of the process, and every student has the tools they need to grow as a thinker and problem-solver.","fullyFundedDate":1746785241185,"projectUrl":"project/stem-tastic-supplies-to-spark-innovation/9175465/","projectTitle":"STEM-tastic Supplies to Spark Innovation!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lamb","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7939010_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651709201065","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-lamb-science"},{"teacherId":9158317,"projectId":9523029,"letterContent":"The idea behind this project came from inspiration of another teacher who created a year-long planner for each of her students. With the card stock I acquired with this donor's choose, I have been able to create a monthly calendar for each student that outlines the school schedule for the month, as well as upcoming tests, quizzes, and projects they may want reminders for or advanced notice about. They've really shown an increase in preparedness for these with the visual reminders.\r\n\r\nThe totes help to organize materials we are using in class, or prepare materials for upcoming labs. For instance, next week we will be learning about the Excretory System and working on a lab to reconstruct a kidney using common craft supplies. These totes will allow me to place all necessary materials out for students to collect to begin setting up for their experiments.\r\n\r\nThank you, as always, for your continued support of our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1756897327808,"projectUrl":"project/organization-helps-the-class-thrive/9523029/","projectTitle":"Organization Helps the Class Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Berlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9158317_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693015252292","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9158317"},{"teacherId":9580875,"projectId":9223815,"letterContent":"Students have been able to express themselves creatively through math and it has made a world of a difference.
