My students have loved exploring the new magnetic cubes, LEGOs, and games during indoor recess and calm corner time. These resources have transformed moments that were once challenging: like rainy-day recess or times when students need to reset, into opportunities for teamwork, laughter, and growth.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a small group of students work together to build a tall magnetic cube tower. When it finally stood without wobbling, the whole class cheered! It was a perfect example of persistence, problem-solving, and collaboration in action.\r\n\r\nThe calm corner has also become a favorite spot for students who need a quiet moment to recharge. They've learned to use the stress balls and calming tools responsibly and respectfully, which has helped them regulate their emotions and return to learning with focus and confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement, they couldn't believe the resources were just for them. Some said, \"This is the best day ever!\" It was heartwarming to see how much these simple tools meant to them.\r\n\r\nRight now, my students are continuing to build together and use their new materials to create small \"STEM challenges,\" where they design and test their own structures during indoor recess. It's incredible to see how much they've learned about teamwork, patience, and creativity through play.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has made our classroom a more supportive, fun, and welcoming place. Thank you for helping my students learn, grow, and feel cared for every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1757555465389,"projectUrl":"project/creating-community/9646728/","projectTitle":"Creating Community","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sandoval","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10068211_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754356173803","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10068211"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_92655","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":960,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":60,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"43.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.1,"schoolId":92655,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Harrison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Harrison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/hamilton-county-schools/harrison-elementary-school/92655"}
