The students in my class live in an inner city environment and have not had experience investigating things in nature. The materials, such as the butterfly and praying mantis kits, will be used by the students to explore and ask questions through investigation. Students will watch caterpillars turn to butteries. Through this investigation, the students will gain an understanding of the living world around them. The students will also observe other living things like baby chicks hatching. These experience will enrich the students learning through investigation and spark their curiosity for the rest of their life.
