One recent highlight was during a lab on pendulum motion, where students had to sketch setups, record multiple trials, and graph their results. For the first time all year, we weren't interrupted by students asking for a pencil or waiting for a dull one to be sharpened. Everyone had what they needed, and we could stay focused on learning. It made the class run more smoothly and gave students a stronger sense of responsibility and ownership over their work.\r\n\r\nThey were shocked—truly surprised by the number of pencils we received! One student joked, \"We're rich in pencils now!\" It might seem like a small thing, but to them, seeing such an abundance of a basic resource made them feel seen and supported. They immediately started counting the boxes and testing out the new sharpener, excited that they wouldn't have to borrow or scramble for supplies anymore.\r\n\r\nWe're moving into a unit on forces and motion, where students will design and test balloon-powered cars. They'll be sketching diagrams, recording data, and analyzing patterns—all tasks that require reliable tools. The pencils you helped provide will be in students' hands throughout the entire project, allowing them to work confidently and independently.
