Students who once hesitated with regrouping were suddenly eager to pick up the marker and try.\r\n\r\nThe meter sticks brought measurement to life in a hands-on way. Having colorful supplies made the writing process feel more personal and creative.\r\n\r\nNow that students have these materials, we're moving into our next unit: opinion writing. Many texts naturally spark rich discussions and give students opportunities to make personal connections with what they read.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is joyful, collaborative, and reflective. Students often read independently, but we also have time for partner reading, small-group discussions, and full-class read-alouds. You'll see students annotating with sticky notes, journaling their thoughts, or leaning in during literature circles. It's not just quiet reading time—it's active, engaged learning. We use strategies like \"Notice and Note\" signposts or \"Think Alouds\" to model critical thinking as readers.\r\n\r\nOne student who previously struggled to stay focused during independent reading has been flying through one of the new graphic novels and is now recommending it to friends.","fullyFundedDate":1746703047587,"projectUrl":"project/a-shelf-for-everyone-donate-books-that/9075968/","projectTitle":"A Shelf for Everyone: Donate Books that Reflect Us All","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Simmons","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9011347"},{"teacherId":9371512,"projectId":9073841,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping us finish out the school year with new materials.
