The students were incredibly excited when the materials arrived and even more thrilled to start using the new sensory walk in the hallway right outside of my speech room. \r\n The sensory walk has allowed for quick, active indoor movement breaks that help the students exercise their bodies and brains simultaneously. The teachers and staff use the path for short bursts of movement during transitions, for brain breaks and for times when students feel overwhelmed and/or overstimulated, and it has made a remarkable difference in keeping them engaged and regulated throughout the day. The students love each station, whether they are hopping scotch on the brightly numbered squares, quacking like a duck, crawling like a bear, tiptoeing through the alphabet, jumping like a frog or doing the wall work. When they finish the walk, using the affirmation mirrors allows the students to come away feeling a sense of pride and positivity.\r\n This project has promoted movement and muscle engagement and has created a safe place for the students to refocus and reconnect before returning to class, ready to learn. I am so truly thankful for the benefits this sensory walk has given in the daily lives of our students. Your support has facilitated this valuable resource and has helped us to have an inclusive and supportive learning environment that will continue to benefit students for many years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1755553308414,"projectUrl":"project/a-hallway-with-purpose/9511393/","projectTitle":"A Hallway with Purpose","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Quinn","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1841586_orig.jpg?crop=1620,1620,x0,y162&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753805591659","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-a-quinn"},{"teacherId":3704907,"projectId":9559579,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support of our classroom this year. I'm already seeing positive changes in my students' sense of responsibility — they take pride in keeping our space clean and organized. Classroom jobs like wiping desks, sweeping, and arranging materials have students leaving the room ready for the next day. Those habits have carried over into the cafeteria, hallways, bathrooms, and special‑area classes. It's refreshing to see children take ownership of our school's cleanliness without constant reminders.\r\n\r\nYour donations have also helped us maintain good hygiene. Students are more conscientious about using tissues, sanitizing their hands, and washing when needed. As a result, we've experienced fewer illnesses and absences so far this year.\r\n\r\nThe snacks you provided give students the extra brain fuel they need between lessons and our late lunch. Because of your generosity, we haven't missed a single snack day.\r\n\r\nFinally, the incentives have been a powerful tool for classroom management. Students work hard every day to earn Dojo points and practice addition, subtraction, saving, spending, and budgeting as they shop at our Dojo Store. Thanks to your support, every student has been able to shop each time the store opened.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous contributions.
