My student population consists of 37 special needs students between the ages of three to eleven. All the students have an autism diagnosis. The students have varying learning capabilities. The schools are considered Title I schools, and are located in an urban area. The cluster serves Child Development through Fifth grade. It is essential to provide learners with autism authentic hands-on learning materials and manipulative's that relate to real-world experiences in order to enhance their knowledge and help them be successful. Because our schools continue to grow, we are unable to provide all of our students with the necessary materials they need. Giving our students with autism access to engaging hands-on learning opportunities using various manipulative's will encourage them to participate in the learning process. It will also help them become more prepared for later grades and for the real world.
