We have been using the LEGO sets during structured centers and small-group activities, where students can follow visual directions, build models, and collaborate with peers. These materials have also been integrated into functional skill instruction, including following multi-step directions, identifying patterns, and completing task sequences from start to finish.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were immediately excited and engaged. Many of them eagerly explored the pieces, sorted colors, and began building independently or alongside peers. For several students, this was a highly motivating activity that increased attention span and encouraged positive social interaction. The excitement in the classroom was clear, as students took pride in showing their completed builds and sharing their creations with others.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we plan to continue using the LEGO resources to strengthen academic and transition-related skills. Students will participate in structured building challenges that focus on sequencing, following directions, and teamwork. We will also incorporate goal-based activities where students practice communication, patience, and problem-solving while completing shared projects. These skills will carry over into broader classroom learning and real-world independence.","fullyFundedDate":1773252556912,"projectUrl":"project/building-brains/10056368/","projectTitle":"Building Brains","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lloyd","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2944285_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1588719538939","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2944285"},{"teacherId":8804263,"projectId":9620932,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students and myself, thank you for funding our DonorsChoose project.
