Having the correct equipment and having enough of it makes a huge impact on student development. As class sizes are increasing it is so important to have everything you need for the students. During my basketball unit, my students do not have to wait for a turn. This will increase skill development, activity time, and overall health of my students. This also helps to minimize behavior problems. The busier the students are, the more they improve. \r\n My students were so excited to see the new basketballs, especially because of the colors. They had big smiles as they were using the new equipment. Basketball is a big part of my school's community. A lot of my students go on to play recreation basketball, or join the middle and high school teams. So, for my students to have new equipment and enough of it for one of their favorite sports is very important. They were all able to dribble, practice ball handling skills, and be active at the same time. \r\n As a teacher, I can't thank you enough for your support for my project. My students will be able to be more active and engaged during their PE time. This will help improve self- esteem and confidence. I also like the way the colors help me to organize my activities. A lot of times I color coordinate equipment, and these fall right in line with how I run my class. Again, thank you so much for making PE better for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1746653561228,"projectUrl":"project/keep-it-moving/9190369/","projectTitle":"Keep It Moving","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bresnan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2191437"},{"teacherId":1904307,"projectId":7356205,"letterContent":"We have had such a joyful year with all of our cleaning supplies. My students love having the responsibility of wiping down desks or cleaning up spills. They have become such great little community workers with all of our tools.\r\n\r\nI can't tell you how much I appreciate your constant support of my classroom. This job is hard, but rewarding, and having people to support me in the way you have makes it so much better.\r\n\r\nThe school I am working at now has a problem keeping a consistent custodial staff. Through no fault of the administration or district, we have lost two different custodians this year and are in a constant rotation of hiring and training someone new. To be honest, our school could use about four custodians, but we only have two. This means that we all have to help out and the extra supplies we received were paramount to making that happen.","fullyFundedDate":1684426852635,"projectUrl":"project/a-clean-room-is-a-happy-room/7356205/","projectTitle":"A Clean Room Is a Happy Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Slone","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1904307_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1523222556288","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lisaseymour21"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5977","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":446,"numTeachers":55,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":90,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":59.1,"schoolId":5977,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Vista Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Vista Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/south-carolina/florence-school-district-1/north-vista-elementary-school/5977"}
