We are an inner-city Title I elementary school located in the deep south. I teach art to both traditional elementary classes and public school Montessori classes. My traditional classes serve over 90% minority high poverty students. In addition, I teach art to public school Montessori classes. I will teach the Adopt-Me Clay Pets unit to a traditional 6th grade class and an Upper Montessori class. The Montessori class consists of about 26 students in grades 6, 5 and 4. The sixth grade class will have about 24 students.
