I now have all the supplies needed for my students to learn the best they can. They love the new stem bin toys. It is there favorite part of the day. First thing in the morning when they come in is get a stem bin toys play with. They are so creative and have such big imaginations. Another big impact would be the rolling cart. Last year my students had to carry the library books to the library. This year the cart makes it so much easier for them to just roll up to the library without having to carry the books. I teach both 4th and 5th grade Read180 to support readers who are 2 or more grade levels behind in reading. In both classes, I have many students placed in my program who have just recently immigrated to America and speak little to no English yet. With your donation, my classroom has become a language rich, welcoming space for these students. \r\n\r\nNot only can I now communicate with my students through the translator device, I can also take pictures of their writing with it and translate into English. With the new bilingual books, my students have material to read during their independent reading time. These books also help them with their English. We use the flash cards during small group time and they love them!\r\n\r\nMany of my English speaking students even use the translator during recess or lunch so that they are able to communicate and play with their classmates regardless of the language barrier. The Spanish posters and labels on the wall have became both support for my Spanish speaking students and my English speaking students who want to learn Spanish to communicate with their friends.\r\n\r\n\r\nYour donation has helped create a safe learning space for so many kids who are coming into a new situation that can be scary or challenging.
