My students have been using the new prize box items as incentives for completing their online learning modules and practicing their multiplication facts. They work with a \"fact friend,\" and it has been great watching them help each other learn while staying motivated by the rewards. The prizes also tie into our PBIS system, where students earn them for showing SOAR—self-control, organization, accountability, and respect. These small rewards have made a big difference in keeping the classroom positive and giving students something fun to look forward to when they put in extra effort.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, the students were instantly excited. They wanted to know how they could earn the prizes and were already setting goals for themselves. These incentives will continue to support their learning and character skills as we move forward. The next steps for my class include continuing to build their multiplication fluency, staying focused during online work time, and growing as supportive classmates. As a new teacher, having these resources helped me create a warm, welcoming, and organized classroom where students feel ready to learn each day. The flexible seating options and new supplies have transformed our learning environment into a space that supports collaboration, creativity, and comfort. My students are able to move around during centers, use manipulatives for math practice, and access organized materials independently—helping them build responsibility and confidence in their learning.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite classroom moments was during our first small-group reading lesson using the new leveled books and materials. The students' eyes lit up when they realized that they could each hold their own book and follow along together. They were so proud to read aloud and share what they noticed about the story. These resources have allowed me to plan engaging lessons that meet students where they are and give them the tools they need to grow as readers, writers, and thinkers.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are beginning a unit focused on building our reading stamina and developing number sense in math. The materials funded through this project—such as classroom organization tools, literacy games, and hands-on manipulatives—will continue to play an essential role in these lessons. My students are thriving in this supportive, resource-filled environment, and I'm so grateful for the generosity that made it all possible.","fullyFundedDate":1746455571998,"projectUrl":"project/help-me-build-my-first-classroom/9291892/","projectTitle":"Help Me Build My First Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fitz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9461949_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733865421245","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9461949"},{"teacherId":9461949,"projectId":9043779,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution that allowed every single one of our students to receive a book of their own. But what's been even more special is watching our students learn how to engage with those stories in deeper, more meaningful ways—thanks to you.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is more than just a daily routine—it's a lively, hands-on journey. These new books have helped us introduce important skills like asking questions while we read, identifying themes, making connections to our own lives, and analyzing characters' motivations. We've also been practicing how to use text evidence to support our ideas—something that's building both their confidence and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nThank you for putting stories into their hands and imagination into their hearts. I teach at a very special school where we welcome immigrant children and families and prepare our students to succeed and lead us into the future. This is especially difficult for some of our students who are still learning English. As the STEM teacher, my goal is to provide our students with the skills necessary to be successful solvers of problems, including future problems we can't even imagine yet. We focus on critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration as we work together. But sometimes, language barriers make communicating and collaborating difficult for our students.\r\n\r\nThe Lego Spike sets have brought our students together even though they may speak different languages. The Lego Education application they use to build and program their creations is very user friendly, even for our students who are just beginning to learn English. I have witnessed friendships growing across language barriers and we all have become closer as a community because we have been able to build together in such a fun way!\r\n\r\nFor me, it has allowed me to connect with all of my students. I enjoy sitting on the carpet with them and delighting at their accomplishments. I recall the arrival of a brand-new student bravely attempting to navigate his first day of school in a new home, in a new country with a different language. I pulled out the Lego sets, and teamed up with him and a few other students. Within minutes, we were all marveling at our progress, the students were cheering us along, and he left class that day clearly part of a group of friends. Legos build many things, but the best thing they build are BRIDGES. \r\n\r\nThese students are our future. The skills they are gaining as they build together are essential. I know that our work at Pinehurst changes lives. I know that our students have grown because of the tools you helped provide to them. \r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for this wonderful gift.","fullyFundedDate":1735519856741,"projectUrl":"project/every-kid-speaks-lego-no-matter-their-l/8979497/","projectTitle":"Every Kid Speaks LEGO, No Matter Their Language!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Meny","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9851084"},{"teacherId":124173,"projectId":9290473,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
