Your kindness has made an immediate and meaningful impact on my students, and I truly cannot thank you enough for investing in their well-being and success.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these resources, we have been using the snacks as both a source of nourishment and a powerful tool for learning and engagement. Many of my students require additional motivation to attend to tasks, and the snacks have become a meaningful reinforcer during instructional activities. For example, during a recent small group lesson focused on communication and requesting, students practiced using their AAC devices to ask for specific snacks they wanted. This created a natural and motivating opportunity for them to build functional communication skills by utilizing a reinforcing tool.\r\n\r\nWhen the snacks first arrived, the students' reactions were truly heartwarming. Their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity as they explored the variety of options. For many of them, this was more than just food, it was something special that was just for them. Most students eagerly pointed or reached and wanted to eat all the snacks right away! It created a positive and joyful atmosphere in our classroom that will continue to carry over for the rest of the school year. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has also allowed us to build important life and social skills into our daily routines. Students are practicing turn-taking, waiting, making choices, and appropriately interacting with peers during snack times. These moments may seem small, but they are critical for developing independence and social understanding.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, our next steps involve continuing to incorporate these snacks into structured lessons that target communication, behavior regulation, and academic readiness skills. We are currently working on expanding students' ability to make specific requests rather than general ones like \"more,\" and the snacks provide the perfect opportunity to practice this throughout the day. Additionally, we are building routines around snack time that reinforce following directions, cleaning up, and engaging appropriately with peers.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has done so much more than provide food, it has created opportunities for growth, connection, and success for my students. Thank you for giving them something to look forward to and for supporting their journey in such a meaningful way.","fullyFundedDate":1776292648557,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-big-smiles-and-big-learning-with/10139040/","projectTitle":"Fueling Big Smiles and Big Learning with Classroom Snacks!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gabi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9622240_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y583&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1722642269733","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9622240"},{"teacherId":10182993,"projectId":10125867,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to our \"Needs to Fuel\" our students brains and bellies! With your donation we're able to not just provide students with snacks for the rest of the school year, but assist in positive reinforcement by providing a reward of a few skittles, m&m's etc. to help remain focused and motivated after filling token boards. \r\n Our students were so excited when boxes were delivered as there were items chosen to each students likings, to satisfy their motivational and hunger needs. When token boards are filled, they are able to go to our snack cabinet and take their choice of reward independently. \r\n In the future, our class will be working on money, as well as vocational and life skills with grocery shopping to prepare for future community outings. \r\n Again, thank you so much for your generosity.
